Types of Centered Riding® Clinics
Open Centered Riding Clinics
- Taught only by Centered Riding Level III and Level IV Clinicians
- Usually 2-3 days in length
- Open to riders of all levels and disciplines
- Usually includes both un-mounted awareness lessons and mounted Centered Riding lessons
- May focus on a particular riding discipline such as jumping, dressage, western, etc.

Advanced Centered Riding Clinics
- For riders who have extensive experience with Centered Riding techniques, although they may or may not ride at an advanced level within their discipline.
- Taught only by Centered Riding Level IV Clinicians
- Usually 2-3 days in length
- Usually includes both un-mounted awareness lessons and mounted Centered Riding lessons
- May focus on a particular riding discipline such as jumping, dressage, western, etc.

Centered Riding Instructor Certification Course
- Taught only by Centered Riding IV Clinicians
- Limited to 12 instructor candidates
- Open to riding instructors with at least one year of experience teaching riding, who have ridden in at least one Open Centered Riding Clinic
- Course is 7 days, taught in two parts with 4-6 weeks between Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 (3 days) includes Centered Riding un-mounted work, bodywork, riding and lectures. Part 2 (4 days) includes review, further un-mounted work, bodywork, riding, and practice teaching. Centered Riding II: Further Exploration is required reading.
- Student riders (to be taught by instructor candidates) are required
- Candidates who successfully complete the full course and meet CR Level I Standards will be certified as Level I Centered Riding Instructors. Certification is not guaranteed.

Centered Riding Instructor Update Clinics
- Taught only by Centered Riding IV Clinicians
- Open to all currently certified Centered Riding® Instructors
- An Update Clinic is 4 days, with a format similar to Part 2 of the CR Instructor Course
- Clinic size is limited to 12 Updating Instructors
- An Update Clinic may be held in conjunction with an Open Centered Riding Clinic, if numbers of Updating Instructors are limited
- Updating Instructors may not miss more than one-half day of the 4 days

CR Clinician Update Clinics
- Open only to Level III & IV Centered Riding Instructors/Clinicians
- All instructors teach and are taught by their fellow instructors
- Organized by a Level III or IV instructor who acts as the moderator
- Clinic is 4 days and includes mounted, un-mounted and discussion
- Instructors may not miss more than one-half day of the 4 days

Centered Riding Lectures and Demonstrations
- An introduction to Centered Riding basics and techniques
- May be presented by Centered Riding II, III & IV Instructors/Clinicians
- May be presented in lecture format or as a demonstration, with or without riders
- Usually includes participation in un-mounted body awareness exercises, sometimes presented by Level III or Level IV Clinicians at equine expos or other equine events
